What it is
The numbuzin No.3 Super Glowing Essence Toner is a lightweight K-beauty hybrid that blurs the line between a hydrating toner and a brightening essence. Formulated with bifida ferment lysate and niacinamide, it addresses dullness, uneven skin tone, and dehydration in a single step. The 200ml bottle is generous by K-beauty standards, giving you room to apply with a liberal hand — or to layer — without burning through the product quickly.
Who it's for
This toner suits people dealing with post-acne dark marks, sun-induced hyperpigmentation, or the flat, tired look that often accompanies a weakened skin barrier. It works across most skin types: oily and combination skin tolerates niacinamide well, and dry or dehydrated skin benefits from the essence-like slip and added moisture. Sensitive skin types who have previously reacted to niacinamide — some people experience mild flushing at higher concentrations — should patch-test before committing. It is not formulated as an acne treatment, so if active breakouts are your primary concern, this should not be your anchor product.
How to use it
Apply after cleansing and after any pH-dependent actives (such as a BHA or AHA) have fully absorbed. Pour a small amount into your palms or onto a cotton pad and press it into clean skin — patting rather than rubbing improves absorption. It belongs at the toner or first-essence stage of a routine, before serums and moisturizer. It can be used morning and evening; morning use pairs especially well with broad-spectrum SPF to support the brightening work niacinamide does over time. Those who follow the K-beauty layering approach can apply two to three thin passes to maximize hydration before moving on.
Key ingredients
Bifida ferment lysate is a probiotic-derived ingredient supported in cosmetic research for its ability to reinforce skin barrier function and help balance the skin's microbiome. A healthier barrier retains moisture more efficiently and resists the environmental stressors that compound dullness over time.
Niacinamide (vitamin B3) is one of the most well-studied brightening ingredients available without a prescription. It works by reducing the transfer of melanin to skin cells, which gradually diminishes the visible darkness of existing spots and helps limit the formation of new ones. It also supports ceramide synthesis, contributing to a more resilient barrier, and has a documented track record for minimizing the appearance of enlarged pores and uneven texture.
Pros & cons
- Dual-action formula addresses hydration and uneven tone in a single routine step
- Bifida ferment lysate adds barrier-support that many brightening toners leave out
- Lightweight texture layers cleanly without pilling or heaviness
- 200ml is a notably large format, reducing repurchase frequency
- Strongly rated across a large sample — 4.5 out of 5 from over 7,400 shoppers
- Niacinamide concentration is undisclosed, making it difficult to benchmark against clinical studies
- Not a treatment product for active acne or cystic breakouts
- Those with a sensitivity to fermented ingredients should review the full INCI list before purchasing
How it compares
If deep hydration is your primary goal and brightening is secondary, the COSRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence is worth a look — snail secretion filtrate is well-regarded for moisture retention and barrier repair, but it does less targeted work on dark spots than niacinamide does. If you want something thicker that functions closer to a light moisturizer, the COSRX Snail Mucin 92% Face Moisturizer sits later in the routine and provides more occlusion. The numbuzin toner belongs earlier in a routine and is the stronger choice when brightening is the priority alongside hydration.
The verdict
The numbuzin No.3 Super Glowing Essence Toner makes a practical case for itself: it combines two well-supported ingredients — bifida ferment lysate and niacinamide — in a texture that travels well across skin types and slots into a routine without friction. It is not a fast track to dramatic results; niacinamide works gradually, and no toner replaces a targeted serum for severe hyperpigmentation. But as a consistent daily step that handles both hydration and tone-evening simultaneously, it is a well-constructed product that earns its strong shopper rating.
What shoppers say
Most shoppers highlight how lightweight and hydrating this toner feels on application, praising its essence-like texture that absorbs quickly without heaviness. Many notice a genuine — if soft — radiance boost and smoother skin texture with consistent use, and several mention the pleasant scent as a bonus. Sensitive-skin users report tolerating it well.
The main caveat is tempered expectations: glow results are real but gradual and subtle, so shoppers chasing dramatic or immediate brightening may find it underwhelming. A small number rated it four stars rather than five for that reason alone.
This is the best toner (in Asia it's called lotion) that I've ever used, and the low price is a bonus! I love this toner so much that I decided to subscribe. I love the feeling when I first apply it. It has a very mild fresh scent that dissipates immediately, but the fresh feeling lasts, until you apply product over it. I like to let it set just for a few seconds before I apply my hyaluronic serum on top. Don't let it dry completely, as its moisture helps with the effectiveness of the hyaluronic acids, then I use a moisturizer of my choice for that evening or day. Yes, I do use this toner day or night. If I wash my face, I use the toner, I never skip it. You just have to try it to see for yourself. I can only say all good things, from the timeliness of the deliveries, to the price, to the product itself. It feels and looks good on the skin. It's not a stand-alone product, so make sure you also have good serums and moisturizers to accompany it, as it's only a toner, not a miracle worker. It only took me my first bottle to realize that I should subscribe at my next order. I'm on my 3rd bottle now. And you don't really need much per application. Follow the instructions and you'll be set.
Read on Amazon ↗Great quality. Nourishes my skin. Definitely glows. Would buy again.
Read on Amazon ↗I tried the numbuzin No.3 Super Glowing Essence Toner and overall I really like it, but I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5. The texture is lightweight and slightly more essence-like than a typical toner, which makes it feel very hydrating when applied. It absorbs nicely into the skin without feeling sticky or heavy, and it layers well with the rest of my skincare routine. I also like that it contains ingredients like bifida and niacinamide, which make it feel like it supports skin barrier care and brightness over time. After using it consistently, my skin did feel more hydrated and slightly smoother, and there was a healthy glow especially in the morning. It also works well under serums and moisturizer without pilling, which I appreciate. The reason I did not give it 5 stars is because the results were more subtle than expected. While my skin felt better hydrated, I did not see a dramatic improvement in texture or glow compared to other similar toners I have used. It is good, but not a game-changing product for me personally. Overall, it is a solid hydrating toner with nice ingredients and a pleasant feel on the skin, but the results are more gradual and gentle rather than dramatic.
Read on Amazon ↗Love this product. Smells so good and feels so good on your skin. On my 2nd bottle. I’m a fan of any numbuzin products. I feel my skin texture stays smoother use it everyday.
Read on Amazon ↗Another Hudson Williams win for the toner love on a good skin care routine!! I have to admit I was influenced. Lol however, I love how budget friendly this is and it’s giving me the same vibe on the Paula’s choice toner but with a slight glow effect! I do have sensitive skin so I’ll see how my skin loves this formula. Otherwise 10/10.

No.3 Super Glowing Essence Toner with Bifida & Niacinamide 200ml: frequently asked questions
What does Numbuzin No. 3 Super Glowing Essence toner do?
This hybrid toner-essence is designed to brighten, hydrate, and refine skin texture in a single step. Bifida Ferment Lysate—a fermented, probiotic-derived ingredient—works to reinforce the skin barrier and smooth uneven texture, while niacinamide targets dark spots and dullness.
The lightweight, watery formula also preps skin to absorb the rest of your routine more effectively, making it a solid first hydrating layer for most routines.
What skin type is Numbuzin No. 3 toner best for?
It suits normal, dry, combination, and dull or uneven skin well. The hydrating bifida ferment and brightening niacinamide are particularly useful for anyone dealing with post-blemish marks, dehydration, or a lackluster complexion.
Those with very oily or sensitized skin can try it, though results will vary—patch testing is always smart with any new product.
How to apply Numbuzin No. 3 toner?
After cleansing (and any low-pH actives like AHAs or BHAs), pour a small amount into your palms and press it gently into clean skin, or sweep it on with a cotton pad. It layers well under serums and moisturizer.
Because it functions as both a toner and essence, most people treat it as a single combined step. If you want additional barrier support, you can follow with a separate essence like COSRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence before your moisturizer.
What are the benefits of Numbuzin No. 3?
The formula addresses three common concerns at once: dullness, dehydration, and uneven tone. Bifida Ferment Lysate strengthens the skin's natural barrier and smooths texture over time, while niacinamide works to visibly fade dark spots and brighten overall with consistent daily use.
Together they make a practical, multi-tasking prep layer—useful if you want to simplify your toning and essence steps into one.
Does toner fix hyperpigmentation?
A toner alone won't fully correct hyperpigmentation, but the niacinamide in Numbuzin No. 3 is a well-studied brightening ingredient that can gradually reduce the appearance of dark spots with regular use. Think of it as a supportive step rather than a standalone treatment.
Pairing it with a broad-spectrum SPF every morning is essential—unprotected sun exposure will undo brightening progress faster than any ingredient can reverse it.
Is bifida good for anti-aging?
Bifida Ferment Lysate is well-regarded for supporting the skin barrier and improving resilience, which can help skin look firmer and more even-toned over time. It's gentler than dedicated anti-aging actives like retinol, but its barrier-strengthening and texture-refining properties make it a worthwhile addition alongside them.
In Numbuzin No. 3 it works best as a daily maintenance ingredient rather than an intensive treatment.
Can I use bifida with retinol?
Yes—bifida and retinol complement each other well. Bifida Ferment Lysate is a non-irritating, barrier-supportive ingredient that can help offset some of the dryness or sensitivity retinol sometimes causes.
A practical approach: apply Numbuzin No. 3 as your toner step, layer any serums, then apply retinol, and seal with moisturizer. If you're new to retinol, introduce it gradually regardless of what else is in your routine.
