What it is
The BIODANCE Caviar PDRN Jelly Serum Mist is a hybrid K-Beauty treatment that delivers a burst of hydration in mist form while carrying the functional actives of a serum. At 1.69 fl. oz., it is designed for convenient layering — press the nozzle and a fine, even spray deposits a gel-like film that sinks into skin without dripping. PDRN (polydeoxyribonucleotide), the ingredient anchoring this formula, is a biotech compound that has long been used in clinical dermatology before migrating into cosmetics, giving this product a more research-backed feel than a typical hydrating mist.
Who it's for
This mist is best suited to dry, dehydrated, or dull skin that needs a moisture reset throughout the day. It works well for those who find traditional serums too occlusive in warm weather or who want a lighter mid-routine hydration step. Combination skin types can use it targeted to drier zones. If you have oily or acne-prone skin, a mist format can be useful, though you should confirm the full ingredient list does not include anything your skin is reactive to. Those with very sensitive or compromised skin barriers should patch-test first, as with any new product.
How to use it
After cleansing and toning, hold the bottle 6–8 inches from your face and mist evenly with eyes closed, then gently press the product in with clean palms — do not rub. Because it functions as a serum, apply it before heavier creams or oils, following the K-Beauty thin-to-thick layering principle. It can also be used as a mid-day refresh over makeup, though absorption will be partial over a full face of product. One to two applications daily is typical; those in dry climates or air-conditioned environments may use it more freely as needed.
Key ingredients
PDRN (Polydeoxyribonucleotide) is a purified DNA fragment, most commonly derived from salmon sperm or trout, that has an established track record in wound-healing medicine. In cosmetics, it is studied for its role in supporting skin cell turnover and improving the appearance of moisture retention and radiance over time. It is not an instant brightener in the way an exfoliating acid is; rather, it works cumulatively to support the skin's own renewal processes. Because PDRN is a relatively fragile molecule, the delivery mechanism matters — a sealed mist format with limited air exposure helps preserve its stability compared to a jar product opened repeatedly.
Pros & cons
- Hybrid format: delivers serum-level actives in a mist, which suits layering routines and on-the-go use.
- Research-backed active: PDRN has a clinical history in dermatology, not just cosmetic marketing.
- Targets two common concerns: dehydration and dullness are addressed in one step.
- Well-reviewed: a 4.5 out of 5 rating across over 1,200 shoppers is a meaningful signal of consistent performance.
- Results are gradual: PDRN is not an immediate-payoff ingredient; those expecting visible brightness after one use may be disappointed.
- Small volume: at 1.69 fl. oz., frequent users will go through this quickly.
- Mist nozzles can clog: any jelly-consistency formula in a spray format requires consistent cleaning of the nozzle to prevent buildup over time.
- Limited ingredient transparency here: the full INCI list matters for fragrance-sensitive or reactive skin, so always check before purchasing.
How it compares
If your primary goal is barrier-focused hydration with a longer track record in US skincare, the COSRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence is a widely trusted comparison point. Snail mucin works through a different mechanism — it is an occlusive-adjacent, glycoprotein-rich ingredient that seals moisture in and supports healing — while PDRN works more at a cellular support level. The COSRX essence is also a pump product rather than a mist, meaning it is better suited to home routines than on-the-go use. If you want something with a similar K-Beauty heritage but prefer a traditional lotion texture, the COSRX Snail Mucin 92% Face Moisturizer occupies a different step in the routine but overlaps on the hydration and skin-soothing goals.
The verdict
The BIODANCE Caviar PDRN Jelly Serum Mist occupies a specific niche that it fills genuinely well: a portable, layerable treatment mist with a clinically used active. It is not a quick-fix product and it is not trying to be. Shoppers who appreciate K-Beauty's incremental, barrier-first philosophy and who want the convenience of a mist without sacrificing functional ingredients will find it a sensible addition to their routine. Those expecting instant visible results or who need a high-volume daily-use product may find it falls short on practicality. For dehydrated or lackluster skin that needs steady maintenance rather than dramatic intervention, it is a well-conceived option worth trying.
What shoppers say
Shoppers consistently highlight real hydration without stickiness or heaviness, with many noting a visible luminous finish after each use. The fine-mist nozzle earns praise for performing well despite the gel-like consistency, and the compact bottle is described as stable and easy to carry throughout the day.
Critical voices are largely absent in this review set — the crowd skews enthusiastic. The formula is noticeably thicker than a standard water mist, so shoppers expecting an ultra-light spritz may find the texture richer than anticipated. It functions more like a serum mist, which could disappoint those who prefer a truly weightless refresh.
This product definitely lives up to the hype! I'm a skincare junkie, obsessed with Korean skincare, who loves trying new products. When this jelly mist hit the market, I was really excited to try it because I'm a huge fan of PDRN, and my now 40 year old skin tends to need moisture now more than ever. I read a few reviews who said it was sticky and although I believe that to be true when it's first applied, after about 20 min to an hour (I haven't exactly timed it), it dries down nicely. I mostly use it at night so when I wake up, my face is hydrated, smooth and bouncy! I also like to apply it in the morning when I first wake up, if my skin is feeling tight because my skin just drinks it up! It sits well under moisturizer and over my mists and essences, leaves my skin looking glowy and healthy, and once it dries down, it also sits well under makeup and blends in beautifully. I looooove that it's fragrance free too. That's so important to me because not only is my skin sensitive, I also suffer from chronic migraines and I have allergies and asthma, as well. This has virtually no smell. Per the instructions, you can use it like a mist, or if you prefer to use it like a more concentrated serum, simply hold the pump close against your face so it comes out in blobs. I've only been using it for a few weeks so I haven't noticed any significat reduction in fine lines but I have noticed that when I use it, the lines seem less noticable because the skin is hydrated and clearly doing something for the elasticity. If you're thinking about it and on the fence, do yourself a favor and but it now that it's on sale for $13!!! Here are a few things about me and my skin: Just turned 40 History of cystic/hormonal acne Fair skin with some hyperpigmentation Sensitive to fragrance and harsh chemicals Well moisturized Skin barrier condition: fair Minimal fine lines but just started noticing more on my forehead and crow's feet Good about my skin regimen Combination skin Dry in my T zones, as opposed to oily Use mostly Korean skincare, focusing on moisture, glow, glass skin Skin is "bouncy" Regular DIY extractions and dermaplaning Common ingredients used: PDRN Niacinamide Hyaluronic Acid Squalane Centella Asiatica Glutathione AHA/BHA/PHA Licorice root Snail Mucin Retinal Bakuchiol
Read on Amazon ↗The BIODANCE Caviar PDRN Jelly Serum Mist is a refreshing and ultra-hydrating face mist that gives skin an instant healthy glow. The fine mist applies evenly without feeling heavy or sticky, making it perfect for refreshing dry or tired skin throughout the day. Infused with caviar extract and PDRN, it helps boost radiance while leaving the skin feeling soft, plump, and nourished. The jelly-serum formula provides more moisture than a typical facial mist, making it especially beneficial for dehydrated or dull skin types. It also layers well over makeup without disrupting it. While those with very oily skin may prefer lighter sprays, overall it’s a luxurious and convenient option for maintaining hydration and glow on the go.
Read on Amazon ↗This spray is convenient and easy to use. It doesn’t leave any sticky feeling, but still feels nicely hydrating on the skin. At first I thought the spray wouldn’t work well because the product has more of a gel texture, but the spray works perfectly fine. Overall, a nice product for everyday use.
Read on Amazon ↗Sometimes I need a mask but just can’t handle the sensory overload I get with face masks. These sprays are an excellent substitute. I am a huge fan of face mists. It just feels nice to randomly throw some hydration on my face with minimal effort. Although the texture is a thicker gel, it sprays out easily and evenly like a thinner liquid would. I was worried about the mist being like a bad leave-in conditioner or setting sprays have been in the past. A direct stream, super soaker or clogged. The spray is even every time (and I waited before leaving this review to give them time to misbehave). I’m impressed! I wouldn’t use these as a part of skin preparation for makeup, though, as they can pill even when they’re the only thing on my skin. I personally haven’t noticed a difference between the Caviar and the Collagen (purple and pink, respectively). Sometimes I just spray a bit of each haphazardly. Do they do anything profound that I think they’re an absolute must-have? No. However, if you need an extra boost and struggle wearing face masks, these might be the thing for you. Alternatively, these are great for dry/empty capsule and reusable masks, or to throw on a dry cotton round/square for spot treatments. I use the super thin ones that stretch when wet (I’ll include a picture of them). I think the price is good, I didn’t notice any fragrance outside of the normal skincare smells, I didn’t have any problems with breakouts (though I admittedly don’t have very sensitive skin). I enjoy how my skin feels and looks hydrated and glowy. The bottles are really, really cute, too. I recommend these. Treat yourself!
Read on Amazon ↗Brightening, glowy, non-greasy product. Very easy to use with the spray technology, bottle is very cute but also stable.
